Daily Routine
1. With the exception of Prefects and 6th Form, pupils
will enter School, under the control of School Prefects, at 8.45 and
2.10 by the cloakroom and Library entrance. At registration pupils will
ensure that they have taken from their desks, books for the whole
morning or afternoon.
2. Pupils arriving after 8.45 a.m. will report to the Duty Prefect and
will remain in his charge.
3. No pupil will remain inside the building during morning 'Break',
except the Sixth Form, unless permission has been obtained from a member
of the Staff.
4. When wet weather procedure is in force for morning 'Break', with the
exception of the 6th Forms, girls will go to the Gymnasium, and boys to
the Hall.
5. Satchels and books will not be left in the cloakroom after afternoon
school.
6. No pupil may return to classroom after a meeting of any school
society or games-training.
7. Ball games are not permitted in the playground.
B
General Rules
8. In the Tower, pupils will go up the wide staircase,
down the narrow one, unless instructed otherwise.
9. When the class teacher enters for the lessons, or at any time when
the Headmaster, Deputy Headmaster or Senior Mistress enters a room, the
class in that room will stand.
10. The following places are OUT OF BOUNDS
(a)
The bicycle sheds between 8.50 a.m. and 12.45 p.m. and between 2.20
p.m. and 3.50 p.m.
(b)
The Balfour Road entrance, except for 6th Form pupils and motor
cyclists.
11.
Pupils who use the Homework Rooms must see that their names are on the
Homework Rooms Register.
12. Any pupil awarded a detention will report to the Detention Class on
the evening specified by the teacher. These classes will be held on
Monday, Wednesday and Friday of one hour duration.
C Absence from School
13. Absence from School for illness or holidays or other
reasons should be explained by a note written by a parent or guardian or
by a telephone message.
14. The School Office will send to parents after three days a form of
inquiry about all unexplained absences of pupils.

Property
15. All property must be clearly marked with the owner's
name.
16. Losses should be reported to the Form Teacher. During P.E. and Games
Periods, valuables, especially money, MUST be left with the teacher in
charge.
17. Property that has been found should be handed over to the Lost
Property Duty Prefects and enquiries for lost property should be
addressed to them. An appropriate fine must be paid before the lost
property is handed back to its owner.

Conduct Outside School
18. Pupils may come to school on motorcycles, mopeds or
by car only after the written permission of a parent or guardian has
been delivered to the Deputy Headmaster and the permission of the Deputy
Headmaster has been obtained.
19. Pupils travelling from the Town Centre will use Route 13 only by
special permission. Routes 3, 16, 22, 24,25 will be used and pupils will
alight at the stop opposite Barratt's Factory.
20. On the way home from School, the following streets and passages are
out of bounds:- Brockton Street, Bunting Road, Arthur Street, Alleys
between Trinity Avenue and Murray Avenue, the forecourt of the Romany
Hotel.
21. Pupils other than Prefects will go to and from the canteen via
Trinity Avenue and St. George's Avenue. Prefects may cross the Girls'
Grammar School playing. fields.
22. Mid-day lunch may not be eaten in the streets or on the Racecourse.
23. School uniform will be worn on all visits organised by the School
unless otherwise directed.
24. On Saturday mornings no boy or girl will enter the building until
the teacher in charge arrives.
