An Attack of Wind
We were at school assembly in the hall. It was the usual monotony
until the deputy head was reading his notes/giving his orders. About
half way through came what appeared to be an enormous raspberry
sound. It stopped him in his tracks. He stormed off to the
exclamation "I have nothing more to say!"
The noise was from the fifth form rows but the exact location
uncertain. Those near me thought it was Fred Brown, a fine
upstanding pupil, but it wasn't. No, after all these years I
have to raise my hand and admit I let forth one explosive break of
wind. Hero or villain? A bit of both I guess.
