County Sailing Champs

24th September 1970

THE two boys who won the Northamptonshire Schools sailing championships for Trinity Grammar School at the school's second attempt are (left) John Pragnall who is 16 and Paul McKernan (13).  They are seen with the master in charge of sailing Mr. E. J. Winkworth.

About 10 schools from all over Northamptonshire competed at Pitsford Reservoir for the Timpson Shield, the premier trophy for schools sailing in the county.

Trinity entered two boats and the one manned by John and Paul beat last year's winners, Cherry Orchard, into second place.  They won two and came second in a third of four races.
