Ray Winne

John Atkinson writes:

Ray Winne sadly passed away just before Christmas 2005.  Ray came to Trinity Grammar School from Cherry Orchard in 1971 and joined Form 6 LM1  (Mr Collings was his form master).  He was quickly identified by one and all as a very colourful character in more ways than one.

Rays mother who is still with us was well known locally as the blond German bus conductress with the Red Corporation Buses which she worked on for a number of years, and Ray's dad was an American serviceman.

After Ray left school he trained to be an architect but soon found that he was more suited to a more manual and outdoors job and trained to be a bricklayer in which he excelled, which was his profession all his working life.

Ray was a lively, outgoing and very personable person with many friends, a hectic social life at times, a love of travel and enjoyed the music of Motown.

Ray leaves his wife Julie, 2 children and a grandson born the day after he died, RIP Ray you will be remembered with much fondness.
