Display Settings

It is becoming increasingly difficult to lay out some of the more complex pages to fit well on a 800 x 600 screen while still looking good on a higher resolution.  Some of the latest pages are now being optimised for the more common settings used today.  Most computers use a setting of 1024 x 768 or higher.  If you find that the images are not properly displayed on your computer, then try setting your display to a higher resolution using the instructions below, as most computers that are still working today can operate with these higher settings.   If changing the settings does not work for you and the new pages are spoiling your enjoyment.

The website is also optimised for the Microsoft Internet Explorer.  If you use a different browser, and you experience problems with enjoying the web pages, then please also mail me.

Changing the Display Resolution

The Setting Instructions below apply to Windows, a similar approach is used for Apple Mac.

The windows that you see will depend on which version of Windows you are using, but are similar.

Right Click on the desktop, anywhere where there is NOT an icon.  Then click on Properties.  A window will open, click on the Settings tab.  On the left of the window you will see a slider for screen resolution.  Try sliding it to the right and setting it to 1024 x 768 and then click on Apply.  The display resolution will change.  If you don't like the new setting after you have tried it out, then use the same procedure to reset it to the original setting (probably 880 x 600).  You may have to reposition your desktop icons again afterwards, sorry.
